Dear Parishioners,

Your Room is Ready

John’s gospel is a perfect description of “divine hope.” Could there be a more comforting thought than knowing that God has prepared a room just for us when we meet Him in heaven?

Jesus uses the analogy of a “room” for good reason. Who doesn’t derive comfort from knowing that we have a home to go at the end of a hectic, busy day? Knowing we have a place that is safe and sheltered from the burdens and challenges of the world is what gets most of us through each day!!!

But Jesus is creating a much greater vision of that “safe haven,” that “comfortable place.” Jesus tells His apostles that the “room” is the “Father” and He even gives them directions on how to get to the Father!

Jesus says:  “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing His works.”

Jesus gave us the path — if we follow what  He says and does, we will be on a direct path to the Father and the room that awaits us. If we believe His words and have faith, the phrase “there’s no place like home” takes on a whole new meaning.

The comfort and safety that He is referring to is not temporary — it is not something we will enjoy only at the end of the day — it is a place that will give us peace for all eternity.

Sincerely in Christ,

Father Lito
