Dear Parishioners,

 ARE YOU IN?

"Are you in?” This is not exactly the question Jesus is asking us in this week’s gospel, but maybe it’s close. Corpus Christi, or the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is the very heart of our faith. God, in the person of Jesus became flesh – just for us.

To become immersed in human existence accomplished more than just providing the most perfect role model for us to follow. Jesus provided a way for us to become part of Him! By eating of His body and drinking of His blood in the Eucharist, we become one with our Lord and Savior. It’s as close as you can get, so to speak.

But to fully partake in this oneness, we must be “all in.” We must believe with our whole heart and soul those sacred words that He spoke at the Last Supper – “This is my body” and “This is my blood.” When we fully embrace this truth, only then can we experience what Jesus wants us to experience.

If we believe Jesus is a man of His word, this should be something that we accept without question. We just need to trust in His words.  “….and the word became flesh and dwelt among us.”  What more do we need to be “all in”?

Sincerely in Christ,

Father Lito
