Dear Parishioners,
As we embark on our Lenten Journey 2023, I thought the following article that I came across on the internet would be good to keep in mind:
The Eagle does not fight the snake on the ground. It picks it up into the sky and changes the battleground, and then it releases the snake into the sky.
The snake has no stamina, no power and no balance in the air. It is useless, weak and vulnerable, unlike on the ground where it is powerful, wise and deadly. Take your fight into the spiritual realm by praying, and when you are in the spiritual realm, God takes over your battles.
Don't fight the enemy in his comfort zone, change the battlegrounds like the Eagle and let God take charge through your earnest prayer. You'll be assured of a clean victory.
Please know that I am going to use this image in a lot of our reflections this season. Let us walk together and ask God to bless our Lenten works of Penance, Fasting and Almsgiving.
"At an acceptable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Look, now is the "acceptable time." Look, now is the "day of salvation." (2 Cor 6:2).
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Lito
